Post subject: How Does Google Calculate CTR?
I have read that Google rewards ad groups that have higher CTR's with both better placement and lower cost.
My question is "How does Google determine applicable CTR?" Is it the CTR for x amount of days in the past or CTR for all time? Does CTR include only active keywords or does it include words that have been deleted, disabled or placed on hold?
In other words, am I better off to take my words that have a good click through rate and start a new adgroup with them...even if I have deleted all of the low performing words from that ad group?
Because of my large number of keywords, it is rather a pain to move them around...particularly since Google doesn't make it easy to move words from adgroup to adgroup. I wish they would take a lesson from Overture in this area and make it as easy to move words from adgroup to adgroup as Overture does to move words from category to category...
