Post subject: Value for money and reliable web hosting
|
|
|
Sorry, I haven't registered yet - this is my first visit to this fourm and I'm still working my way thru the threads.
I came across this thread and thought I could add some value. My current host is TotalChoiceHosting.com (known to its friends as TCH). Like most people I've worked my way thru several providers and have ended up at TCH. I've found it second to none in terms of support and reliability. They respond quickly and courteously to all requests/enquires and that was even in before I joined plus now when I'm only paying $4/month for their starting package.
If anyone is interested, they should first go to the TCH forum (totalchoicehosting.com/forums) and see what existing customers say - there's even a thread for complaints that anyone can read.
They have no referral program so there's nothing in it for me apart from trying to give something back to others like me who have been bitten by previous hosts. And no I don't work for them or benefit in any way apart from being a customer.
Regards,

There are so many good hosts out there. You always choose what you really need and can actually afford.
Don't get frustrated. My suggestion is to do a search and get a list of hosts that offer what you need, and then try some of them at the same time since almost all hosts offer certain days of money back guarantee these days. Don't make domain DNS change, but use a subdomain or an instant domain alias to test drive each of them. After you make the final decision, you then do domain DNS change.
Someone says apple tastes good, and some other may tell you banana is better. You cannot judge it correctly for sure by only watching apple and banada or listening to what others say how they taste. Eat them by yourself and then you know the difference. Your frustration might come from that you haven't try any of tem yet. The frustration will be gone after your try. _________________ Http://www.1-mlm-web-hosting.biz :

1and1.com is offering free web hosting for 3 years. Offer expires Jan21.
500 meg. Regular price is 29$/month. Three years is lots of time to deside if you can make it online.

hi everyone,
Check out http://www.wwkiosk.com [Affiliate part of link deleted. Admin.] hosting starts @ $18.95 /month depending on your hosting needs.
They offer a one month test drive for $1, a marketing program and a training conference twice a day for visitors and members where you can get your questions answered. _________________ "The fact is, if you want change, you need to add something new to the equation."

If you value reliability, Netcraft has a list of top-50 hosting providers ordered by failures. Personally I'd recommend New York Internet.
*edit*
The purpose of this post wasn't to advertise NYI, but just to tell you my honest opinion. I've never used their "hosting" services per se, but at least their dedicated servers run as smooth as silk. Their pricing is reasonable when you consider the QoS. I'm in no way associated with the comany either (except as a customer).

This topic has degenerated into a whole lot of self promotions. It would have been expected these would go in the Ads section. The real idea here is to talk about one's personal experiences with existing hosts with appropriate recommendations or otherwise.
I probably should delete the self-promos and/or lock the topic. I'll use a wait-and-see approach for nw.

I have been using "People Host" for several months now and I am not sattisfied at all.
There are many "Under Construction" links, The site is not user friendly and I did not get good answers for my questions. _________________ Paton
