Post subject: contact form script

Hi there, I am looking for some type of contact form software, wizard, or script. Not looking for anything fancy, just basic contact us form. My webhost mentioned about using Matt Wrights contact form but I dont know anything about him and it seems to be a 3rd party service.
I know i have seen software out there to create forms but cant seem to locate it now.
Appreciate any help.

Chris,
You have likely since solved this issue by now...but if you have support on your web host for...say PHP or some scripting language the nicest way too handle that is via a STD HTML form...and then a simple PHP page too email the info too you from the person contacting you.
This is beneficial 2 fold
1.) Ensures you don't have your email in any href emailto: tags on your website that those nasty EMAIL spiders will pick up and
2.)It's clean and painful for you you can use one email addy too administer multiple website.s..just by using some unique indentifier on each website you use the same contact us form...
i.e. The website name or URL etc.
if I've totally lost you on this lemme know...I have a simple script I use for this purpose on a lot of sites and I find it works quote well..

HI,
I don't know about losing Chris, but I know you lost me!
I'd like to have a contact form on my website. I have a full featured web host with all the goodies. I just have never implemented anything of this on the server side. dont' quite know how to go about it although I'm great with FTP and can get around my C-Panel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Need a gmail account? I"ve got some to give away -- I could share one in return).
Thanks,

Hi Gail and Chris,
Chances are most webhosts have a script you can push one button to install that gives you a form you can use to collect information from your visitors and then email that information back to you.
Gail - Does your cPanel have any autoinstall (Fantastico?) scripts listed for you to install and use? This would be the easiest way to get setup and running ASAP, but if this isn't offered, I've used the bFormmail script from http://www.infosheet.com/iScripts.html on many sites over the past few years and it's fairly easy to setup and configure for your application.
Take a look through their readme and let me know if you need any help to set things up and I'll be happy to help.

There is a free contact form script at ostermiller.org.
It allows arbitrary fields, doesn't ever show your email address to prevent spam, and is easy to install. |
