Let's say I have a 5 page website. I am targeting different keywords on each of the 5 pages. If I get a high rank on the keywords from one page, do I automatically get a higher rank for the keywords from the other pages too?
Thank you in advance. |

No, SE's rank pages not sites; so each page must stand on its own. Once you get the onpage SEO done; you need to build links into your site to improve rankings. The number of links you need will depend on how competitive your terms are.

No. Well, sort of, in a way.
If you get a lot of good links to your site, from authority sites - ones that have a lot of links to them - you'll find it becomes easier to get good rankings in search engines for every new page you build, for every new phrase you target. You'll even find that you're getting visitors via phrases you HAVEN'T targeted.
For the first few months it's normally a tough struggle but if you keep at it you can reach a point where succeed leads to success and snowballs nicely.
If you get lots of links to your site and add new content frequently, the search engine robots will troll your site very frequently looking for new pages and they'll rank those new pages very quickly, often within about three days, in my experience.
When you're starting out and have few links to your site, you'll need to aim for very non-competitive phrases if you want to rank well. As you get more links to your site, you'll find you can gradually succeed with more competitive phrases. _________________ Allan Gardyne
