Search Engines strive to efficiently process user search requests, and then display the most relevant and useful search results. The most respected Search Engine in the world largely judges relevance and usefulness based on ?inbound? link popularity.
There is another way to judge relevance and usefulness that is wholly unrelated to a website?s ?inbound? link popularity. Let me explain...
Relevance and usefulness can be summarized in one word: ?Quality.? Aristotle, the world renowned Greek philosopher and scientist, is quoted as having written that ?Quality is not an act. It is a habit.?
There is an organization that exists today that empowers, conditions, and encourages its customers to make a daily habit of building Quality website pages through something called Site Build It.
The end result is an ever expanding universe of tightly focused, niche-oriented websites that are useful and relevant to me and others.
My goal is to encourage Site Build It customers to continue creating excellent content. No, not merely with words of encouragement, but by spearheading the creation of an independently managed SBI-only web directory that is searchable and completely free.
The ?proof of concept? for this is contained in my signature line below.

I'll agree with you there. But the issue is what constitutes "quality" work? It's like art, different people have different tastes. I'm not sure if Google will ever be able to determine what true quality content is.
Right now, your best bet is to produce quality content, but not because of on-page factors. You'll be more likely to get inbound links without requesting them if you do something unique and revolutionary, and that's what Google looks for.

Sorry, I just find that a bit too much to accept...
It's one step from saying that all the best writers use the same make of typewriter (or whatever they use these days). 
How about the people who ignore the guide and build "low quality" sites with SBI? If you admire the high quality content site model, then fair enough, but what about people who use the SBI philosophy (site structure, "natural SEO") to create the same end result using their own tools and methods?
You could even argue that the whole concept of the affiliate content site is devious by nature? Was the content created to share knowledge or earn you money?
Another question, I know, but I fail to see much of a link between quality content and tools used. Picking good mentors and letting their good qualities rub off on you, sounds like a better way of looking at it.
