Blog and Ping is another great way to get easy traffic. Blog burner is one of the best ways to accomplish this as it automates the entire process for you, however it can get very expensive if you have a lot of sites or a lot of pages.
There is a new tool out that is just like Blog Burner except it is a Windows based program that you OWN and never have to pay usage fees like BlogBurner. It works like a charm and runs in your system tray so you can let it run in the background. I use it and you can check the link in my Signature if you want to take a look. Make sure you read the case study... pretty interesting.
I can send a link to my Blogs so you can see the results if anyone is interested... _________________ Heelys Shoes :: Online Resource for Heelys

Just a quick update on the Blog and Ping method of getting free traffic.
An interesting by-product of the blog and ping method is that your blog can get some good ranking as well.
I just set up the system on the 17th and Blogged and Pinged it once (I am on my second go around as we speak) I just checked into Yahoo for my main keyword 'binocular reviews' and the Blog I set up at blogger just for this purpose is ranked #1 in Yahoo for the keyword !!! You can see it now here :: Yahoo Search :: My Site is in the 20's (it varies everytime I check from 21 - 24)
I am not sure how long it will stay there... might be gone tomorrow, but it is there now and traffic has increased some already.
16th - 24
17th - 23 (Blog and Ping)
18th - 55
19th - 40
20th - 24 so far today...
So Far, according to Marketleap, I have 95 pages indexed in the Major Engines 14 in Google, 13 in MSN, and 68 in Yahoo. Not too bad for the first 20 days...

This is all very exciting, but doesn't it bother you that that creating a site like "http://www.binocularssite.com/binoculars/binocular-reviews.html" doesn't add anything new and useful to the Internet?
Surely the search engines must already be watching these blogging and pinging experiments and figuring out ways to tweak their algorithms to downgrade such sites?
Also, I imagine AdSense might decide the site was created purely for AdSense income, which is against its rules. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Glad to see you here on this thread. Your post brings up many interesting topics, each of which deserves its own thread, and probably has it.
Is Blogging and Pinging ethical?
Are websites that use Blogs for Links going to get Downgraded?
If your website doesn't add something new and useful, why make it?
First of all, I think you unjustly classified my site into the group of throw-away Traffic Equalizer/Directory Generator Sites that we have all come to hate. Sure, my site uses TE pages to assist in driving traffic to the main site.
Did you look at the main site? Click on the link for Binocular Reviews on the left. I only have Alpen Binoculars listed so far, but I will (eventually) get them all listed. I am attempting to build one of the largest directories for binoculars that will contain actual reviews from owners.
Follow the Alpen Links and click a style of Alpen binoculars... I plan to build pages like that for every major style of Binoculars (there are 100's).
Each page also has a Review Script where Users can Review them and get the reviews posted to assist others.
So you see, it can and will be useful, but it is just a baby now, only been working on it a month. So I take a little (very little) offense to being compared to the site you mentioned.
So why did I use TE? For one thing, right now at this time in the SE world, it works. I can't predict the future, but I know the present. I used it to help me cover the 1000's of Keywords that I could not possibly cover in so short a period of time. I think I did it in such a way that makes it different from the others, like the one you mentioned.
Hopefully, some of the traffic will actually click on the link for the Reviews and read them, or post their own. If not, maybe they'll click an adsense ad. Who knows.
I won't touch the Blog and Ping comments as this is getting too long already, but I would like to make a statement about your other comment.
I don't mean this personally, so please don't take it that way. But, maybe when I get to your position and status on the web, I can create sites that add something new and useful to the internet. But for Now I create sites to MAKE MONEY. _________________ Heelys Shoes :: Online Resource for Heelys

Fair enough. The link you provided produced a blank page for me in Firefox so I did a search at Yahoo! for "binocular reviews" and found the blog I mentioned No.1.
I appreciate that you have long-term goals for your main site, but I think there are risks involved in creating blogs designed purely for blogging and pinging.
As you say, all this would be better discussed in a blogging and pinging thread. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I think it's possible to combine the two. (I'm sure that's what Allan meant.)
I think it as a way of future-proofing your sites, as much as doing our bit to help maintain the quality of the SERPS, though both are important, I reckon.
Just a thought,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Future-proofing. I like that. Maybe someone should write an ebook - "How to Future-Proof Your Website." _________________ Allan Gardyne
