One way to get a lot of attention is to create something unusual, so people tell other people, who tell other people...

Here's a fascinating example of viral marketing.

School teacher George Masters created a stunning animated ad for iPod that is creating a lot of buzz.

His 60-second ad features flying iPods, pulsing hearts and swirling '70s psychedelia. It's set to the beat of "Tiny Machine" by '80s pop band the Darling Buds.

He created the spot in his spare time. Working a couple of hours at a time, the ad took five months to make, Wired News reports.

You can read the full story here:

George says he created the ad "for fun". It's a pity someone didn't tell him about affiliate programs Smile

Apple computers are the place to be for regular folks who are ready to journey beyond the world of text content.

Every new Mac comes with iLife, a series of multimedia programs that all work together. Taken together, the whole package is a really impressive multimedia tool.

Apart from the viral marketing aspect... How about that for brand loyalty!

How many people are willing to sit for 5 months and create a piece of marketing material for you ... just because they like your product! I hope your watching Mr Gates. Smile

I think it is not a coincidence the ad was created for an Apple product. I had the rare opportunity to meet Steve Jobs in person at a conference. I don't know much about him, but I can surely tell he is a prodigious guy and he always did his job for the best of Apple.
As someone sad, some companies are going nuts with preaching brand loyalty, while at the same time they take exactly the opposite route. Apple has always stood firm on it's principles.
I also found very annoying the persistent bashing Steve has always received from the media. My best bet was/is there are powerful lobby groups (even in his own company) who always hated him and wanted him out of company for obvious reasons.

Paul.
