Hi,

When I do a backlinks check on my site
I have 6.
All my articles link back to my home page.

On other sites, I see they have more backlink,
their backlinks are from their own articles.

Why don't my articles come up as backlinks
to my home page.

If you're using Google, it's been purposely broken for backlink checks.

What was the purpose of google even
having a google toolbar that showed
pr and backlinks in the first place?

According to MSN, you have 12 backlinks.

According to this search at Yahoo...

linkdomain:www.artwilliams.com -site:www.artwilliams.com -site:artwilliams.com

...you have 20 links to your site.

If you want to include your internal links, you can do this search at Yahoo...

linkdomain:www.artwilliams.com

...which gives you a count of 42 links.

You can find more ways of checking backlinks here:
http://www.associateprograms.com/backlinks.shtml

I ignore Google these days when checking for backlinks. It just teases us.
Google hasn't explained why it does that. Various people think they know. Smile
