Whoa, settle down now.

1) Google generally doesn't dispaly your meta tags as it's description, not sure where you heard that...

2) Caches occasionally look funky, I've had some to, it's nothing to worry about. It's simply the bar Google places at the top to show the date of the cache, etc. Nothing to worry about, unless your only visitors are those who check out your caches Wink

Google displays your site differently depending on the key phrase typed into Google.

SOMETIMES it grabs the description from your meta tags. Often it doesn't.

For example, try typing in "associate programs" (with quotes) and read the description of my site. That's a good one. It's word for word, the description I wrote in my meta tag.

Now try the same search, associate programs, without quotes. Same words, but you'll see a different description.

Then type in "allan gardyne" and you'll see the words grabbed off the page are very different. That's OK.

But try typing in "affiliate forum", scroll down to No.4 and look at the description of this forum. Whoops! The description is telling us what the time is! There is no handy meta tag to help Google on that page, and not enough words containing the phrase "affiliate forum".

So it's a good idea to include your most important phrases in your meta tags, even if some people tell you that meta tags aren't used any more.

And don't use irrelevant stuff high on your page.

Sometimes you can improve the description Google displays by tinkering a bit with the words on the page, including your key phrases in a sentence or heading high on the page, and so on.

However, you can't predict what phrase people are going to use to find every page of your site, and so it's impossible to control how Google is going to display your site to everyone.
