Post subject: New forum section?

Hi Allan,
what do you think of opening a new forum section like "Caf?" or something like that. This would be useful for privat chatty things like New Year, Chrismas, Tsunami or what else comes to one's minds that doesn't fit to affiliate marketing but is worth sharing in this community.
Just my 2 cents.
And be the way: Happy New Year from Germany - right around the corner

I'm not keen. I've succeeded in business by concentrating on carefully selected niches. I'd prefer to continue this approach on the forum. This is a "friendly, helpful affiliate forum". Its goal is to help people succeed in affiliate marketing. That's what I want people to remember, not that it's a chat place. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I understand, Allan. But on the other hand people will post topics that are not about affiliate marketing. At the end you have your merciless moderators working for you and anything inappropriate will be deleted anyway. It was just a suggestion. |

The forum keeps evolving. If enough people express an interest in a new section we start one. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Fabian,
The "merciless" moderator replies (Man, that's poetic - I like it, "merciless moderator" - shame, it's not true.
Fabian, I allow all messages to remain unless inflammatory, angry with unacceptable language, or just plain rude or in the form of character assassinations that may well be libellous. Of course, spam is deleted as you would all want and mis-placed messages get moved around.
There have been many off-topic messages that persisted for some time (ask our Indian friends where I left them a lot of space to sort out their problems before asking them to communicate privately) and several repetitive writers where only the duplicate messages were axed (ask Paul, our current mass duplicator).
Generally, "every dog has his day" and that's not meant to be derogatory in any way. In most cases, other members leap to do my work telling the OT presenters to move on (occasionally they PM me with the suggestion!) and we maintain a friendly, interactive, dedicated affiliate marketing niche.
I was tempted to delete the Tsunami Appeal messages as there are just so many dedicated activities elsewhere for this. The interactive comments there made that clear and that topic "ended" as it were without upsetting the message posters.
I hope you'll see I'm just the garden gnome sweeping the path clear for anyone and everyone to access this message board readily without stumbling on inappropriate material. That's why we have the Message Board Use Instructions which have grown with time as we saw need and the suggested guidelines there and my actions keep things running smoothly.
May 2005 be a productive year for you all and may you all find your interaction here fruitful

Hi Wally,
I didn't mean it badly when I said "merciless". I morely meant it in the opposite direction as I think you're doing a pretty good job here. So please don't feel ashamed
I think you're absolutely fulfilling your goal to make this a warm place. I feel good here as I also wrote in the "Introduction" section. I come here on a daily basis and this will continue.
So, from my side all the best for you in 2005 and stay warmly merciless |
