Post subject: Article Making The Top 10

I wrote my first article and got it published. However during the process I had something unusual happen, I got lucky. The article has reached the top 10 in google (I am not complaining it has been great!) on a main keyword in a little over a month. I am confident if I had published this same article on my website it would have never reached the top 10.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and can anyone explain why this might happen?

Depending on where you published it, they could have a high-ranking site that gets a lot of traffic. With the high ranking (PageRank) it would boost your article up a bit.
If you have a themed content affiliate site, I would definately publish the article on your site, and put a tagline into the article to link to your main site. Free traffic!

My guess is that the person who runs the new high-ranking page (where your article is hosted) has cunningly linked to that page from other high-PR pages.

Actually the article was published at http://www.ezinearticles.com/ and they took it an ran with it. The top 10 listing takes you to their site where the article is published.

OK, thanks. I got the wrong end of the stick...
I thought you meant someone running your article had got the ranking, rather than the article site itself.
