do we make money on showing ads too? or just clicks?

I have close to 2000 Impressions a day, less than 20 clicks, is it normal?
do you guys know where I can signup to make more money since I have so many visits a day. I want to have adsense and the other one both. something that is not having conflict with adsense rules.

it is my first time advertising on my website, I just noticed woohaa, what a huge potential I have and I didn't know!!

is 2000 good or bad by the way?

Thanks to you all

Posting or discussing Adsense stats, including impressions and clicks, are in violation of the Terms of Service. Don't do it again Smile as Google has been very strict in this regard and has terminated some publishers because of their postings.

Now...as to the other questions ... Adsense is per click only, TribalFusion & FastClicks offer CPM. I don't know if CJ, Linkshare or Befree offer CPM. You might try a search on Google for "cpm advertisers" "cpm network" "cpm affiliates" or something along that line. I am not familiar, nor have I used, CPM for my site. Perhaps someone else can help you with that here. Smile

I do remember reading some posts at SitePointForums regarding CPM from Tribal and Fastclicks for beginners being around $1 per CPM ... and you move up after a while and get higher rates ... but honestly can't remember the exact details.

Page views (impressions) is good, the clicks all depend on the advertisers ads showing through Adsense, your site's subject and conversion. It's hard to say ... some publishers are happy with .5% others expect 4% or more.

I have read many discussions about color of the Adsense appearance and how it affects CTR, and again, it depends on location on the site, site subject, blending it in ... making it stand out ... and noone agrees Smile They do however agree pretty much that the leaderboard style and skyscraper style have the best CTR of the 4 styles they offer.

Hope this helps,
Debs

I've tested all the standard AdSense colour schemes on my site and there's no doubt that the ones that perform best are the ones that are similar, but not identical, to the overall colour scheme of the site. In other words: discreeet, but not invisible.
But of course, that may just be what my visitors prefer Wink

I've never used Adsense on any of my own "real" sites, but from a general site design point of view, that would be what I would expect to work best for most sites, but...

Seriously, I've learnt the hard way, that - no matter how obvious or intuitive something seems - it is always vital to test (and measure) the results yourself.

Often a small change can affect the overall effect of a web page - whether it's site design, copy or whatever - in ways you'd dread to imagine! Smile

The same applies, when you try and export ideas from one market or website to another. (This is why what the "internet marketing gurus" recommend often does not work anywhere near as well when applied to other niches.

Whatever you do, always keep trying out new ideas - just make sure you track the results of any changes you make.

Hope this helps,
Charlie.
