Hi,

This week was released a very interesting study about the behaviour of US consumers, as far as their Inbox is concerned.

The results of this practical study are a must reading, if you send emails on a regular basis, because it'll give you an unique perspective of what US consumers want from permission e-mailers.

For me, the most startling result of this study is the fact that US consumers have reached a natural threshold of 10-20 email relationships that they can engage with, at any one time.

This emerging inner circle of trusted companies / individuals from whom people are willing to keep reading email, presents a significant challenge for email marketers.

E-marketers will have to enter the inner circle by displacing existing email relationships and focus on keeping the loyalty of existing email customers, to ensure they stay within the increasingly competitive inner circle (of 10-20 email relationships).

That number includes email newsletters, but also account status updates, transaction confirmations, etc.
If they get these from more than 20 sources on a regular basis, then they feel like there's too much e-mail.

Once over that threshold, US consumers become more and more selective about which email they'll open and read.
If they join a great new mailing list, it probably means one of the old ones must be dropped, for the simple reason that time allocated to email activities can't stretch forever.

People can only regularly read so many magazines or have a certain number of favorite TV shows.
With email activities, the same principles apply, making this field of permission marketing extremely competitive.

Now, you not only have to get an email address plus permission to mail it, you also have to achieve a top 20 most favored status, for your emails to be read.

You can read further about this practical study - and even download the full 7-page Special Report called "How Companies Can Enter & Remain in the Customer E-mail Inner Circle" - by clicking here and visit Profits.CC

Hope you'll also find it useful for your home Internet business.

I have to agree ... 10 or 20 email lists is MORE than enough Smile I have unsubscribed from 10 just this last week ... I gave them 3 months to provide new insights and useful information ... my email load is tons lighter already Smile

BTW board members, you can also download the free report mentioned by ProfitsCC directly from the owner's website by right clicking on the link here

or use the standard left click to just open the pdf file. Found it with a search on Google.
