How do you link to a specific portion of a page?

Example: I have a page that contains numerous articles or recipes and I want to link to a specific article or recipe on that page. How do I do this?

In your source code, prefix the special sections in that page or another page with <a name="distinctivetitle">

Then create your URL as <a href="#distinctivetitle"> for within the same page.

Of course, if it is on another page, e.g. info.htm, your URL will read:
<a href="info.htm#distinctivetitle">

Those multitudes of distinctive titles can be just codes like a1, a2, a3 etc or textual expressions.

For an extreme example, view the source code of the Hibiscus information site at http://home.att.net/~SHA-IV/ where the huge page is all done with such links.
