Sorry if I resorted to overkill there - but it's better to be safe than sorry.

At least, you are all more aware, and hopefully, more careful, now.

Wally,

Thanks for your response. Maybe it would be a good idea to include AdSense posting restrictions in the "Message Board Use Instructions" forum.

The dollar amount quoted in my latest newsletter is the amount people are paying on Overture, not Google's AdWords. When you use http://www.pixelfast/overture you see Overture results only.

That's publicly available knowledge. No harm in quoting it.

By looking at those figures you can get a ROUGH idea of the maximum amount that people are probably paying to advertise on AdWords. An AdSense user receives a share of the amount actually paid (as long as the advertiser chooses to advertise on the AdSense network and not just on the Google search engine). Also, Google uses a complex system which means that advertisers don't usually pay the maximum possible amount.

You can go into Google's AdWords, and figure out what you would have to pay to bid on certain keywords. That's readily available info - there's no harm done in quoting it.

The figures Google doesn't want AdSense users to discuss are your own click-throughs and earnings etc.

I didn't see the post that was deleted. Perhaps Wally misunderstood which figures were being quoted. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

Thanks for the clarification Allan. Smile
