Hi,

Re: www.ProfitsGuru.com

I have been working on my content web site in my spare time for the last 3 or 4 months. I am currently getting no more than 5 - 10 visitors a day and making next to nothing from Google Adsense.

I'd like to make a part time/ full time living from this site.

I have read loads about internet marketing and really don't know which of my many options would be best.

Any advice about what I might be doing wrong, and how to move forward would be appreciated.

Ray

Ray, if you can't promote your own online business to high traffic, and great returns, why are you trying to tell others to do it?

Your first mistake? Trying to be an Internet Guru when you don't know a thing about it.

I would suggest you drop Internet Marketing (a horribly competitive niche) and go into something you know, love, can be passionate about, and you can become an expert in ... that's isn't competitive or near as competitive ...

Your contact page says it all by not saying a thing ... your visitors don't know you ... why should they trust you? ... you are anonymous, you say you are a Profit Guru but you won't tell them who you are and what you have done ...

Ray,
I like your site. Seems you have made a lot of effort with it. It certainly is better than much IM crap I've seen.

Debs: Ray is very fair in confessing that he is not a ProfitsGuru to us on the forum. Doesn't necessarily means that his ordinary visitors knows that...

But of course: A skilled surfer will immediately notice your PR0 and Alexa 1.202.000 ranking.

I can't find a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) or a unique product from your hand. Good article on ebooks, but no specifics (tools, like my free eBook Laughing )

Tough niche, as Debs says... Rolling Eyes

Thanks Debs and Database Designer,

I won't argue too much - you have raised some valid points.

However, the site is not just an internet marketing site - its a collection of articles about doing business online and offline. Thats the USP.

I suppose that is one thing I should make clearer. Sad

I would definitely emphasize that USP, particularly offline ... but keep in mind, will they listen to Thundercat? Anonymity has its benefits, don't get me wrong, but you want to build credibility and that requires being upfront and reachable.

Hi Snowman,

And I surely hope it's not snowing your way today. Laughing

Sorry, I keep re-posting certain threads But hopefully they get a few people re-thinking. In case you haven't read it. Here we go again. Wink

Really, think about Your Cluck, cluck, my eggs are expensive than yours!

Read this local thread and when you get to my post and Gary's you may want to think about flipping your eggs over easy and frying up some traffic and cash. Wink

Few are really doing it.

Marketing can be Fun.

Just my thoughts

All the best
