If you keep working at affiliate marketing and keep persevering, you will eventually make it. It's inevitable. It may take longer than you think but whether it's a matter of one, two or three years, you will be earning a decent income from affiliate marketing.
Personally, I have seen a slow increase in the income generated from my sites since I started 8 months ago. Recently, I added a number of pages to one of my sites and I have seen a major increase in traffic and adsense income. This has really motivated me and given me confidence. I am convinced that some day soon I will earn a respectable income from my sites. When that day comes I will be the happiest person on earth.
To those who have just started, this is not a get rich quick. You have to put in a lot of hours into this thing. But the good news is that once you build the site it can earn income on auto-pilot. (Passive income).
Sometimes you may feel that it's not worth it; that it's taking longer than expected for you start making money. But never give up. Many are making it and earning thousands a month from affiliate marketing. Keep persevering and one day you'll look back and laugh. _________________ Ten Real World Sample Sites |

You will, Mantius, without a doubt!
And probably sooner than you think.
Your post echoed my thoughts precisely - good on you and keep it up. |

One of the advantages of affiliate marketing (particularly for those who make use of the free search engines) is the fact that it's highly unlikely that you would realize a loss. Not risky. An SBI site can cost less that $50 a month. Your time excluded, you need to make less than $50 dollars to break even. This is easy!
I remember putting thousands of dollars into a business at one time and losing most of it. If I had that money right now, I would be making use of ghost writers and adding content. My money would have been put to better use.
With multiple sites, you can't go wrong. The challenge is really adding the content. Let's say you only make $100 per site. Now multiply that by x sites.
Personally, I don't need to make too much to be content. $2000 a month from affiliate marketing would be excellent. I'm no where close to that yet but I am confident that some day my dream will come true. _________________ Ten Real World Sample Sites |

Mantius,
Great posts! I thought for a long time I wouldnt make it and then all of a sudden it clicks and things start working together and the checks keep rolling in. I am about $6200 per month and growing. It took a couple of years to get going but I dont wake up everyday going to the office. What a great feeling!
Take care

I got started about the same time you did Manthius ( Dec 2003) and am starting to see some return for my months of work.
The pursuit of passive income is just too much of a lure for me and I know I will eventually make my living online.
This business is very much an emotional roller coaster. Some days I feel that there is just to many barriers in the way to my goal while other days I am like an arrow fired straight on target.
Keep focused, avoid over information and implement, implement, implement. Take the info you do read and put it to work.
What a concept... make money while you play! |
