Hi friends,
I need your opinions on whether I've strayed from my site concept or whether I should continue doing what I'm doing.

My site http://www.ultimatesongwriting.com is based on the keyword songwriting. Have I done anything wrong by talking about stuff like recording, recording studio equipment, cd duplication, cd printers, music business, music software etc?

Take a look at this second site map and let me know if you think that the pages are fine. Here's the site map: http://www.ultimatesongwriting.com/ultimate-songwriting-site-map-2.html

Can I begin talking about topics like singing (singing techniques) on this site? Many songwriters would be interested in these topics but I'm I diluting the site?

Ken advises that we build as many pages as possible... over two hundred, and I'd like to aspire towards that. At least, over 100 pages would be fine. But there are not enough keywords on the songwriting theme per se. When it comes to fleshing out your site, how far is too far?

I could imagine other people facing this situation of relevancy and I hope that your suggestions can help them too.

Have a great day! Thank you.

I think what you have chosen to expand your niche is good. There is such a thing as a "too tight niche" which can make it hard to monetize a site. If you feel your site falls into this area (I don't know since I haven't done the research), then I see no problem with expanding the niche to cover closely related areas.

Looks very good to me.

If you're doubtful about a sub-topic, you could have one link to it from your main page and then a sort of sub-sitemap with 10 or 20 or so links to your sub-topic.

That should satisfy both the search engines and your visitors.

Allan and Debs,

All your points are well taken and quite valuable. Thanks for the reassurance. It's a great feeling to know that these pages should stay and that I should continue the trend.

My thinking all along. Very reassuring.

My site http://www.yamaha-keyboard-guide.com deals with Yamaha keyboards (as the domain name suggests). Do you think that I could/should expand the site by including pages about other types of keyboards eg. casio keyboards, korg keyboards, roland keyboards and so on?

I'm thinking that I could have a tier two page about music keyboards in general and link it to several pages about other types of musical keyboards. This would certainly allow me to have many more content pages. Would I be diluting the site? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

From a search engine optimization point of view, I think what you're suggesting would be good.

However, to your visitors it might appear a little odd if your domain name is about Yamaha stuff and you're writing about (recommending?) other gear.
