Post subject: How do you get people to link to your site?

Allan posted these comments in another topic.

These words make me ask the question. What's the best strategy to persuade people to link to your site?
Thanks,

Offer them content
Write articles, post these in article databases and also make them available on your website (with easy-to-understand reprint policy stated).
Submit articles, tips, etc directly to content relative sites & ezines.
Offer to co-promote. You can exchange links, exchange articles/content. Not only site-to-site but also site-to-ezine works well - you can offer to feature them on your front page in exchange for being included in their ezine & on their subscription confirmation page.
Consider link exchanges or backward links not only for search engine optimization, but also for the value of referral traffic.
Have you considered Ken Evoy's SiteSell Value Exchange?? (its free!)
I'm sure there will be some other great suggestions - I look forward to following this thread... you start some great ones! _________________ Lynn Terry
