Post subject: What worries me about Google Adwords...
|
|
|
Im thinking of giving Google Adwords a test run. Now, what Im concerned about is the following:
Has anyone thought about the fact that your competitors may click on your site just to drive your costs up? Obviously they have no intention to view your site and are just doing this to force you to pay the adwords fees. Is this a legit concern?
Also, how many of you have been sucessful using Adwords? Thanks! _________________ Discounted Golf Equipment

I don't use Adwords but I do know that many of the PPC's will not charge you for multiple clicks from the same address.
To put your mind at rest check with Google before committing cash.
All the best,

Hey,
Google has protections in place for this. From what I understand if i click hit back and click again over and over it will count as one click.
And also you can set a daily budget to limit how many clicks you can get in a day. Finally, think about it this way. If you have competitors that hope to beat you out by spending their time clicking on ads instead of working on their campaign they won't be around long anyway |

They will also have their ADwords accounts disable, and if they are also Adsense publishers, they could be deactivated for fraudulent clicks.
As I understand it, you can view stats on your clicks ... I am not sure how detailed they are, but if you suspect fraudulent activity, you can request an audit of your account.
If you use Adwords, you also have the option of using the Content Distribution (Adsense) channel to get your ads on relevant sites. This means you could have ads showing up in multiple places at once, so don't think a lot of clicks in a short period of time always means fraud.

Ok, I signed up 15 minutes ago and have already received 4 visits from my adwords advertisement. Im listed from 3-5 for most of my search terms....this makes me think that I can lower my click cost.

Hi StrayPixel,
Don't know how I missed this one....
I have had some success with Google Adwords, but that success came after blowing $300 because I didn't know what I was doing.
I have one successful campaign and about 8 failed ones. But the successful one nets about $500/month after expenses.
A few other people have had much more success then I have though. I highly reccomend taking a look at Barry Stein's Marketing Blog at www.awebbiz.com/marketing-blog.htm .
Barry started with Google Adwords in November. For January, he totaled just over $6,500 in commissions, and about $4,800 of that was profit. Apparently, February's numbers will be similar.
Hope this helps!
