There has been some discussion about a delay in AdSense stats reporting. Here is something I have noticed a few times.

If you log in to AdSense you see the stats for today.

I have noticed that if you click on the "This month" report, the stats for today are often higher than what was shown on the first page. In other words, the "this month" report seems to be more up-to-date than the stats you see when you log in.

Hi Bobby,

I had noticed this effect also. It seems like Google is caching stat reports for a given period. so when you select "today", you may see stat x/t (an abstract way to describe the value on a given time), and when you change to "this month" it gets a new stat, which may say x/t+1. When you now go back to "today" you get stat x/t again. to go even further, if you now select "last 7 days" (yet again a new date range) it may say x/t+2 !

As a Google stats junkie, I am constantly selecting different date ranges to tickle Google to give me updated stats Smile

Hope this helps to understand it.

Best regards,

Erwin.

OleTom,

I think a number of people have noticed that.

Some people have offered a few possible reasons, but for me, the difference between the numbers can't be explained by the reasons offered.

So that did I do about it? Nothing. I decided it wasn't something worth much worry - I'd rather spend that energy building new pages on which to promote affiliate programs, AdSense, etc.

One possible reason is this:

Customer visits your site, instantly decides it doesn't have what they want, so they close the page. Since AdSense is included into your page on the client side, it doesn't load as fast as the rest of your page, so it doesn't load before the customer closes your site.

Also, some blockers will block the AdSense request, so you do not get an impression.

And, if someone has JavaScript disabled, you will not get an impression either.
