I opened up explorer tonite and all hell broke loose. There was a search tool bar that just appeared out of nowhere called Web Search and all kinda crap started popping up on the screen. I went to add/remove programs and noticed 2 or 3 files titled n-CASE. I had about 3 or 4 icons on my desktop, "Free to talk" was one and another had something to do with my printer and Intellegent Explorer. I like to have never got thet crap off my computer and still don't know for sure if it's off. I had to download an uninstall for each piece of junk.
Now my wife says she hasen't d/led anything and my son only burned a cd. So where did all this junk come from?

Hard to say... it depends on your browser security settings, what sites you visit and some other factors.

If your browser security is pretty low, then programs can install themselves just by going to a website.

Or if someone says "yes" to one of those "install me" dialog boxes, that could do it also.

I would download a spyware/scumware checked and see what it reports. You might be surprised.

You can get Adaware by http://www.Lavasoftusa.com or Spybot Search and Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org/

Either one is great at detecting and removing junk like that. Spybot is more automatic, keeping itself up to date, while Adaware you have to request the updates via a button in the software.
