I do not want to get SBI because I do not have money (I'm a student). So, the only solution for me is to do manual research for m very first website.

At first I was happy with the brainstorming, that just a while I could get more than 1000 keywords. But when I searched for their demands in Overture, I ended up with more than 10000 keywords. Heck! Arranging them is already a big task and sleepless. What's more if I need to check for their supplies on Google and AltaVista?

What is my solution?

First of all, bring down the number of keywords to a more reasonable figure. 10.000 keywords to start with is definately too much.
You probably have all your data in an Excel worksheet, so then it is easy to just mark those keywords, that fit your site theme the best and then sort descending and you have a nice list to work with.

Overture gave you numbers for last month searches, but these numbers are inflated because many webmasters check there to find out about their rankings and about how much others bid for a certain keyword.
Put your most important keywords into Wordtracker (wordtracker dot com) and it gives you a good overview of what is really searched for and how often. The demand for the keywords is also listed (Altavista is used for the free trial, all other SEs in the full version).
The full version can be accessed with a one day subscription as well (to keep things on the cheap side) and I highly recommend it for proper keyword analysis.

Hope this helps a little ( and take a nap in between ) Wink

One last thing regarding keyword research: Check out Sitesells Affilate Masters Course, if you haven't already. Print it out and follow it step by step. It works. (Link is on the page in my sig)

In fact, I have already read the Affiliate Master Course and doing exactly what it is recommending.

Wordtracker is just too complicated for me, but I don't mind to try it again since you suggest it to me.

I'm building computer site, a very competitive field, but I have no other topics which I love. I plan to extract another for notebooks. But right now, computer will be my first and experiment one.

Because I don't want to copy Rupert's one, so I do everything on my own, originally from me. So, searching for keywords is very hard for me.

Thanks for the quick reply.

What about computers are you doing?

Building them? fixing them? buying them? painting them?

You don't have to answer here if you don't want to, just remember that you want to keep your niche small. Computers is to broad... If you notice, Ruperts site is just about buying them. That's a decent sized niche.

Great, not an other copycat site.
But keep in mind, that copying the experts (in concept) sometimes is OK

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

Well, here's my site concept.

I will be sharing on how to build your own pc, with in depth details and instructions, hardwares that I recommend.

I will add in reviews on certain hardware from time to time. Not a long review, but short, and summarized. It sounds like Rupert's one, but I am working it all by myself.

This site concept involves almost all hardware in a computer case.

Anyone please let me know how to find profitable keywords fast.

Thanks!

Victor,

I would also recommend Wordtracker.com. It's not that difficult to use. They give you a lot of options but you don't have to use most.
Just use their main search option, called "Keyword Universe" I think.

For your initial search, use the paid one day subscription (which actually lasts for more than one day). It costs about $7 depending on the current conversion rate from British Pounds. Use the free tiral version to research any keywords you might think of later.

I usually take the Wordtracker results and transfer them to an Excel spreadsheet for easier data manipulation.

I hope this helps.
