I have also noticed this trend and I think this is because people are more keen to download now and many affiliates are making thousands with those pay per download programs.

Pay per download programs are working just fine. Still people are afraid of downloading stuff to their PC's and not to mention the fact that they are reluctant to use their credit cards online.
Nevertheless, PPdownload programs are doing better than some years ago.
Anyway... today you can find more and more stuff for free so I believe is a matter of time until these sites will be in ruins... You will need to start branching your home business sooner than later.
