Post subject: Alternate ad question

Has anyone tried putting in an alternate ad with a size that is smaller than the AdSense display? For example, with the vertical display, what would happen if I put in an alternate ad that was the same width but only half the height?

From what I've read, it should be the same size as the code is.
If it isn't the same size it could get stretched or squashed to fit or cut off. Have you experimented with it? I would also be interested in seeing what happens.

I've followed AdSense's instructions and use an alternative ad that is the specified size. You might see it occasionally at the bottom of pages in this forum.
AdSense has paid me thousands of dollars of very useful money. I don't see any logic in messing around with its instructions. |

Thanks everyone for your comments.
I was thinking of using an affiliate program's banner as an Alternate Ad. The banner is smaller than the AdSense ad.
That's the reason I asked the original question in this thread.

You could seek the affiliate merchant's permission to increase the size of the banner. _________________ Allan Gardyne
