Post subject: Changes to Google?
|
|
|
I understand Google is testing a new appearance for their search results pages and the changes are already viewable for some people.
Among other things, the Sponsored links or AdWords ads are no longer in individual boxes with a border, making them appear less like an advertisement.
I wonder if that same change could come for AdSense?

It's already been there right along. Just change the border and background to match your site and you have the ads listed with no boxes.

Hi All
The only thing it's missing is the font face instead of
google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
google_color_link = "000000";
google_color_url = "000099";
google_color_text = "000000";
It should be
google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
google_color_link = "000000";
google_color_url = "000099";
google_color_text = "000000";
google_face_text = "000000";
So you could make the font face match your site _________________ Life is Good,OleTom

Yes, but that would mean changing the AdSense code, which is against the Terms of Service. Not recommended. _________________ Wyrdology - For all things strange |

Having the ability to change the font face will be nice. Google has specific high traffic sites test out new features before standard publishers get them, so if you start seeing that ability around, it won't be long before we get it as well.
tmendham is right though, don't change it in advance as that is terms for suspension of your account and patience is a virture

But if your ads have a border and a different background than your page, they stand out and catch the viewer's attention . . . does anyone have an opinion on what works best? I've concentrated on keeping my site rather bland and having my AdSense ads stand out, even to the point of choosing the rotating color scheme so the reader who views several pages doesn't become accustomed to seeing the ads and ignore them. |
