Post subject: search engines and databases

Hi,
I've done some fairly small web design in the past but never had the need to incorporate a search feature within the site. I'd like to put one into the site I have but don't know how to go about it.
I know there are things like the google search out there but I really want something that gives more of a polished result, similar to the searches that most stores have, or ebay for example.
I believe it has something to do with databases etc but I really don't know where to begin. Any help or pointers would be much appreciated. |

if you're using a web design software, like namo, or coffeecup or dreamweaver, it provides tools to insert search functions. if you're using a software that doesn't provide it look for a company where you can purchase or get for free several different types of buttons... search, chat box, similes, etc. _________________ icontact, email marketing services |
