Post subject: Network programs or independent? Which is better?

When choosing affiliate programs, do you generally opt for those that are part of a network (Commission Junction, etc.) or do you prefer to find independent programs that are run in-house? Why? What are the pros and cons to each from your perspective?

I personally prefer to use affiliate networks because of their huge selection of affiliate programs and same time there is plenty of product related informations available to you. And you'll know exactly how much you're earning and payments are solid, however downside is you have to pay fee for each time when you sell a product.
On the other hand independent affiliate programs wont charge any fees from your sale, you'll get your payment in full amount but downside is when you try to promote several different programs at same time its hard to keep tracking every single independent affiliate programs and some of the affiliate programs tracking systems can be not so reliable. At last it takes time find good independent affiliate programs.

I"m working with both (network programs and independent programs). You should check the following parameters before joining any network / program:
1 - The network / program reputation.
2 - If they provide dedicated affiliate manager
3 - The promo tools they provide
4 - The products they offer
If they have good reputation and history, they provide dedicated affiliate manager that you can communicate with, they have good products, and they have good promo tools (banners, landing pages...) there is good potential here and it doesn't matter if it's a network or independent program.
