Can anybody list 5-10 (or so) of WorPress plugins that are useful (really "must-have") in your opinion?

None are really must have.
I like AllinoneSEO, All in one Adsense, Ban IP, Google Analytics, Google Sitemaps, WP Spam Free, My Category Order, Ninja Affiliate, Hana Code insert to name just a few.
Depends on the use. For example I target USA Traffic for Adsense on some sites... on those sites I don't make money form Foriegn Traffic... so I block it. Not because I don't want them to read the blog, but because I don't want the empty impressions.
Ninja Affiliate is not free but it's a great way to track affiliate programs, offers cloaking, and automatically converts keywords to affiliate links.
Hana Code Insert allows me to put just about any piece of code into any article quickly and easily.
I'm very sold on WordPress. And I will search out a plug in always before doing something manually.
Great place to look is to type in the keyword with plugin in Google and then verify the plugin on WordPress.org.
Good luck w/WordPress... very powerful with plugins.

Don't forget to activate right away Akismet, the built-in plugin that will help reduce significantly the amount of spam comments you could receive.
And consider using WordPress Database Backup, the plugin that can give you your blog back, should disaster occur!

Digg This O' Mine (you know, the digg button)
Facebook Like Button Plugin
Both can be found in wordpres.org.

i think you need to find which ones work for you. definitely ones that handle tagging, searching, categorizing your posts, calendar, comments, spam.
