PAGE RANK is for PAGES... not sites.
Google does NOT rank SITES... Google ranks pages.
Get it?
There is a reason it is not called SITERANK.

You can increase your PR by getting quality backlinks from relevant websites, this is called link building. There are several ways to get backlinks, including but not limited to link exchange, blog commenting and forum posting.

You get PageRank by having backward links from other website pages that have a higher PR rating than your site page the link.

Let me help all you people who still don't "Get it".
PAGERANK DOES NOT MATTER!
Pagerank is nothing more than an indicator about how much respect Google has for your page. It does NOT mean you will Rank High and it does not mean you will make money.
Pagerank is to pages what a thermometer is to temperature. That's it.
This is why a Page with a PR2 can appear in the FIRST RESULT for a search while the second listing can have a PR of 6 and the third a PR of 0.
So while all you people who don't get it are worried about chasing after PageRank... people who do get it are out making money.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink... that's the cliche.
Anyone who is smart enough to understand what I am saying might have a chance to make money online... those who don't catch on are sadly in for a lot of disappointment.

I also agree with you that You can get PageRank by backward links to other pages on your site with higher PR rating of your site has a link to the page. PR is updated once a month when Google updates its database of web pages.

PageRank is derived completely by back links but do quality and relevant link exchange. Reciprocal link exchange is the good way to increase page rank.

Get a Good Page rank it's Totally Depends on the Two Thing First Contain of Your data on Your Website and Traffic on Your Website.If You Want to Increase the Traffic Then You have to Do Some SEO Work on Your Website Like Link Building,Article Submission,Social Bookmarking and Blog Comment Etc.
