Google Images has indexed billions of images. If your image can be found for the right keyword, then you will get targeted visitors to your website.

Why images can help you to get more visitors

Depending on the search query, Google displays several images above the regular search results. For example, try this search for German Shepherd Dog:

Nice information. Thanks for sharing.
When it comes to image optimization, image file name and alt text plays a huge role. Most webmaster though tend to ignore image optimization.

Image search optimization is about using images on your website to draw more "click-throughs" from the search provider, my experience is that the idea of optimizing images has been put on the back burner because of the wide penetration if broadband in recent years thereby raising your rank in the search list. This, in turn, helps to ensure that you keep getting more visits to your site. A neat article I just found by typing "image search optimization" into Google Search is linked below. Images are optimized by providing ALT text for the image that includes keywords about what is in the image. I did like your approach in your presentation - the global view of optimizing, saving bandwidth, saving energy, etc.

Hello Friends......

Heavy images cost you money and traffic. They cost you money because they require both significant storage space and bandwidth. Since your web host will usually give you a limited amount of storage space and a maximum data transfer allowance, heavy graphics can cause you to exceed those limits, in which case you’ll have to pay extra.

Thanks

Optimizing images is not too hard...but the traffic you get from them has almost no value...because people only go for the image, they don`t care about the site

Also, it is very important to determine the width and height of your images in your HTML code. Because the text of your page loads are usually the fastest, if not to determine the width and height of your image the browser will have to re-text once to download the images and time-consuming more than that. If you take the time to determine the width and heigth of your images, the browser will not put the text where it should go from the beginning, even before it loads the images and save time.

Here I want to put light on the Importance of ALT and TITLE Attribute:

ALT and TITLE as descriptive elements:

Because visually impaired users are often unable to see pictures, they rely heavily on the description associated with them. ALT tag for images and TITLE tag for other elements have become increasingly important in order to fully describe all elements of a web page.

Not everyone using a computer has vision or hands.

In the event that the user can’t view the image—perhaps because he or she is accessing your page over a very slow connection, because an incorrect src attribute has been defined, or because the user is visually impaired and is accessing the content using a screen reader—the alt attribute provides alternative content that can be displayed instead of the image.
