Some friendly Newbie advice.
This story my hit close to home for some of you out there, and I hope it will help some of you on your quest for success in the Business of internet marketing.
When I first started in this business I was like a lot of other people I jumped from one Business
opportunity to the next over and over again thinking the next one will be the Big one.
Not only dose that approach not work, it will cost you a bundle and the sad part about it is not only will you not make money 90% of the info you get will be old or useless or both.
Please don't underestimate this problem I'm no genius but I wandered around repeating this process for about 3 years. Be leave me when I tell you there are people out there who carry on like this their whole life long and never figure out they are running in circles.
This is what I learned from My experience of what I call chasing your tail, If your thinking of seeing your dog running in circles trying to catch it's tail that is exactly what I mean.
In this business it is focus or die. Pick one subject or hobby that you like and STICK with it until you have your first site about that subject done. Buy done I mean complete up and running just like it you want it.
Only after you learn to focus and get that first site done and go through the whole process and get that vital experience will you ever be successful.
Don't get distracted by all the get rich quick crap!
pick your site and see it through to the very end.
Set goals and meet them the person you are helping is yourself and your family.
You can do it if you really want it, but you must keep your eye on the ball so to speak.
I really hope this little tid bit helps and remember nothing worth while comes quick and this is a real business you must treat it like one. Stay FOCUSED!!! |

Yep. So true. I reckon one of the biggest mistakes I've made is abandoning projects too soon, before doing enough work to find out whether a project will profitable or not.
It helps, too, to do careful careful research before you start, to improve your chance of choosing a profitable idea. I chose a niche once and discovered far too late that it was one of the niches that Google doesn't allow AdSense ads on. Whoops! _________________ Allan Gardyne

I agree with Allen. I've been working on a site that get's over 100k visitors a month. However, the niche isn't so profitable.
...so niche selection is pretty important. Once you've done research, I suggest trying out some quick traffic strategies like PPC to test it out before putting in a lot of work into it (if you're not sure if it is profitable). _________________ Charles Amith

Along with that is sometimes it is best to simply "expect the worse but be prepared for the best" A little play on the old saying. In business, you can't count on your business to pay your mortgage right off the bat. I went into my first business with a "worst case scenario" and was happily surprised. I funneled all my discretionary income into my business and planned for it to not make a penny the first six months. It is true that you have to spend money to make money - but I wouldn't spend rent money |

Ive also gone down that road where I didnt see money upfront and abandoned that project. I have become a little more patient because if it was as easy as slapping a site together and slapping some ads on there then everyone would be doing it.
Perseverance is key, although you may have to play around with your niche. If a niche is overly saturated then more than likely your not going to make much with it unless your just that good. _________________ Imagine the Unimaginable~~

JonMills has it spot on. Many people come to look at affilate marketing but dont have the patience.
They hear about the money being made and think they can make hundreds within weeks. Maybe the case with some but if people realised they are starting a business very similar to eccomerce they may stick around longer, very much worth it

agree, in affiliate marketing you need lots of patience and dedications, and you need to work day after day after day to get the results _________________ Win a Money Making Website

Yep without a doubt. When i tend to go into a niche I usually pick 2 or 3, this way I can find quite quickly the one that does really well and then knuckle down and focus on that market more and in turn increase commissions to my monthly goal _________________ Affiliate Organizer Software - http://www.affiliateorganizer.com
