Be real careful with PPC, people can spend a lot of money ont that and you really have to have an idea of what you're doing or you could lose a lot of money. So make sure you learn as much as you can about it, and research your keywords. I would try free traffic methods first before paying for advertising especially just starting out.

Although PPC is very fast, it can become very expensive. I don't suggest that you set up a AdWords ad & send traffic immediately to the affiliate product landing page.

Instead, create a review about that product, such as the PROs & CONs, comparison with other products & what are the contents inside it.

To get more idea about how to create a review, go to http://crave.cnet.co.uk/laptops/0,39029450,49297248,00.htm

You should send traffic to your affiliate review landing page instead of the affiliate product landing page. This will increase conversion rate.

Make sure you capture their email. Offer a free report & a free email course. The email course teaches them something useful as well as preselling them about the affiliate product. Note: This is a powerful technique.

Just like what Allan had said, you have to do some calculations. For example, one click is about $1. Let's assume that the clickthrough rate is 1%, which means that for every 100 clicks, 1 customer will buy your product. Your total CPC will be $100.

Unless the affiliate commission exceeds $100 (for example $200), you won't make much profit. You can either choose an affiliate product with recurring commissions, for example membership sites.

Some important points to take note is to choose a low paying keyword, such as $.50.

You can also have a better ads copy & review landing page to increase conversion.

PPC is a very diverse & deep topic. It is impossible to cover everything here.

Hvae to totally agree with carpunky that if you cna find multiple low search low competition keywords you can do it but generally I would stick to blogging/articles/squidoo, etc to try to generate organic traffic first.

I think the main thing is to research first write second. You need to know what keywords will get you traffic.

If you're determined to go the PPC way I would suggest you find long-tailed keyword phrases (generally much cheaper) that people who are looking to buy the product might use - such as the description of the item you're looking to sell.

It sounds to me like there's a lot you need to learn about internet marketing before you can even get started. Beginning with PPC is kind of like starting to run before you've learned to walk.

I'd suggest you start learning by becoming an affiliate marketer first. Most affiliate marketing companies offer on the job training so you can learn all about internet marketing for free.

Once you've learned all you need to know you can go off on your own, though a lot of people find they earn all they want through affiliate marketing.

The choice is yours, but at least you'll have a working knowledge of running an online business and all that entails.

I made the mistake of jumping into the PPC and I tell you what it took a while to get out of the hole. Dont get me wrong there is a lot of money in the PPC ads but there is some formula that the average joe doesnt know yet that those PPC guru's have figured out.

All im trying to say is that before you jump in there you might want to do ALOT of research.
