Post subject: Your Extra Pages PR?
|
|
|
As I am starting to build up an affiliate site my main page, which I am focusing on getting links to, is now a PR0. I am working on continuing to promote the main site but it has not started to help build my PR on my inside pages.
Outside of just adding more content how do you get PR to your inner pages? The links page is an important one too as it will be a great way to help other sites and promote stronger links back too. _________________ Buy a Poker Table

That's an interesting question you ask.
Generally accepted opinion (by which I mean that everyone will now disagree with me!) is that a large site will do favourably in Google, not because size is everything but because you'll have the ability to move Page Rank around more freely.
What do I mean by that?
It's possible to elevate certain pages in your site at the expense of others - lots of links to a contents page will mean the contents page does well in Google. The more pages you have at your disposal, the more you can link pages together so that there are pages that are natural focuses (and which do well), and pages that stay in the background.
Regard extra pages as giving you more leverage to distribute the page rank you have in a more varied way...
And, of course, a richly embodied, properly constructed, well-maintained and informative site is much more likely to keep your visitors - something as important as getting them in the first place.

Hi Kevin,
You are probably doing this already, but just in case . . .
When seeking out links (exchanges, article promoting ect.) don't just seek links for your home page. If you have internal pages that you want to boost, seek links directly to those as well.
Good advice from Kameron about internal linking. _________________ Why Do Most Affiliates Make Less Than $500 Per Month?

I agree about the interlinking of pages. Use anchor text for that.
You can also backlink to the individual inner pages as appropriate. _________________ Easy To Do Niche Affiliate Marketing |

If you want to build PR for your inner pages then they need to have good content and backlinks. It really is the same formula everytime
But i would not be so focussed or taken by PR. I have a PR 0 website that commands 2000 uniques from the search engines every day
It's the traffic that converts _________________ Free Marketing Videos

Google values content, authority, and relevance.
The pursuit of PR is a waste of time. You can not buy anything with PR and PR doesn't mean you will rank. All it means is Google has some respect for that particular page.
A site with a PR of ZERO can rank on Page 1 for a search phrase!!! Think about that.
Google is tracking USER BEHAVIORS with Cookies. The days of just throwing up links and being able to check how and where you rank are over. Add to this Geo Targeted IP Traffic Monitoring and you'll soon figure out that Chasing PR is a waste of time.
Focus on People, Behaviors, and MARKETING! _________________

One of the ways to get links and pr to inner pages is with article marketing. When you sent articles to directories, also add a link to a relevant page on your site, besides the home page, in the resource box. _________________ Italian Fashion Designer
