I live in australia and I was told by one internet marketer that I need to set up my own american company so I can get american bank accounts and a business number. Are there any Australians getting paid as an affiliate by companies outside australia, and have they got american credentials?

No No and No.

Allan knows a little bit about being an Affiliate from Australia.

All you need to do is make sure that the affiliate programs you want to promote accept Australian Affiliates.

Many programs would prefer to pay you with PayPal and not send you a check at all.

Many programs will send you payment in check form. You do not want to set up an american business as you would end up being subject to American Taxes... no reason to pay twice. Wouldn't leave much for you.

There are a lot of affiliates from Australia out there - I don't believe you will have any problems with the major affiliate networks such as Clickbank. Of it does become a problem, you might want to try creating a virtual office in another country, but I don't think you will run into that problem.
