I want to make this some sort of survey for my decision, so I would really appreciate it if you would help me with this one.
Assuming that I can only choose one, which monetizer would you recommend to me for my site... affiliate programs or google adsense?

Why would you assume you can only choose 1? And why would you assume anyone can have any idea of what will work for your site, and your idea?
Choose what is most suited to your audience, not what others think, or not what you think.

Starting any business is not very hard. What is hard is building and sustaining a business. So again, what others think about this specific post is irrelevant. Pick one that you think you can begin making money with and get started.
Who will you blame if you don't make money? The guy who said start with Adsense or the guy who said start with an affiliate opportunity?

I got paid from both Adsense and affiliate programs and based on my own calculation affiliate produces much higher profits.
But it does not mean I will abandon Adsense. I still make money with Adsense but in a much slower way.

Having adsense ads on your site can be a good monetization. If you are having affiliate links in your site, you can also have them as your money-maker together with adsense.
Google's policy states that you must have other outbound link on your site other that adsense, to adhere to this policy, it is good to have affiliate links as your outbound landing.

If you have the time to tweak campaigns I would say affiliates and depending on your niche. If you have a site about desktop wallpaper or something with extremely low CPC and CPM you still would probably make more $$ from the adsense because what can you sell these people besides ringtones and adult friend finder hehe..but seriously the more niche and the more expensive the topic you cover the better affiliate marketing becomes. If you cover a wide area of products I would suggest adsense because it's hard to focus on everything and be profitable.

| You should have multiple streams of income. If one falls short or bans you like Google could you should have backups. Backups to the backups. Everything changes in this internet marketing game you have to be one step ahead. But to answer your question 1. have your own really quality targetted products. 2. Find a super high quality affiliate program that relates exactly to your crowd and brings them value big time. Does the program you are referring have a variety of products and do they have great customer service? Best if their products pay commissions on a recurring basis. The program must be quality and must be targetted exactly to your audience. Then Adsense. |

I will go with adsense. I earn around $100 per day.It has taken few years to reach this mark.Adsense really works for me.
