There are lots of ways to promote affiliate programs, but I'd suggest starting out with article marketing, and gradually get into pay per click advertising as you gain more experience. _________________ Wealthy Affiliate Review

There are so many ways to market online.
I suggest you learn one and master it, because you can get lost for weeks online try everything under the sun.
You should find an audience to target with each promotion and questions they are currently asking.
This is really overlooked by most affiliate marketers.
Can't market to a crowd with no money or want something you don't have.
Here are some free ways
Squidoo
Hubpages
Social Bookmarking sites
Article Marketing
Blogging
Youtube
Myspace groups
Facebook groups
the list is endless, people are everywhere online. Just find the right customers, and track everything. _________________ Wealthy Affiliate Review & $1 Trial Offer |

Article marketing, forums and social networking are the best way to get started.
I would also build a blog related to your products and regularly post useful information.
Also, have a sign up for a newsletter to build your list. Then create a series of emails, perhaps as an e-course and offer a free report for signing up.
Good Luck,

i would have to agree with glen.
Video marketing will be very powerful.
you can make a couple of videos explaining
your affiliate program and put it on your
blog or submit them to the video directories _________________ Tired of all the 'Get Rich Quick' Nonsense?

Promoting your program is mainly related to getting traffic to your site. In other words, getting visitors to your website from whichever place, where you can place a link back to your website. This you can do using some of the following ways in addition to forums:
1. Publishing press Releases
2. Submiting your blog to web directories
3. Commenting on other Blogs
4. Submiting to social bookmaking sites

Charles,
It's good to hear from you again. I for one never expected to - you really do need to interact with your topic from time-to-time. I'm glad you have as that gives you credibility. Too many topics like yours are created by drop-and-run posters who just want to display their signatures. Hence the skepticism when you didn't return.
You'll appreciate I don't delete them unless they are in flagrant contradiction of our posting rules - I don't want to be accused of censorship!
All the best for your interactions in future.

I don't even have a signature. I didn't even specify what the affiliate program was.
I appreciate the site. I was looking for a little out-of-the box ideas on how to specifically promote an affiliate program, not general SEO back-link generation.
Thanx again. |

Just to clarify... Are you an affiliate merchant trying to attract affiliates to an affiliate program?
Charles, as you may already know, good marketing is all about forming a connection between you and you reader - not just on websites and sales pages, but on forums and anywhere else we communicate on the Internet.
If you just dash off a quick note without revealing anything about yourself or your experience, you're very optimistic if you think experienced forum members will care enough to want to help you.
Here are a couple of articles which may help...

I apologize if I wasn't clear. The time I posted the original post I was frustrated and I was trying to figure out a good approach that works.
I manage some affiliate programs and I was looking for ways how to sign up affiliates. Since that original post I've been more successful. In addition, I understand at this point that to become very big it's probably a necessity to join an affiliate network.
I will read the links you posted. I appreciate your assistance and by no means was I putting down anyone. In fact I didn't respond at all until I had something to say in response to someone's post.
Again,I appreciate all the input.

Who are the key influencers in your niche? The people that others look up to? Start with them. Identify them, talk them into promoting your product, and other affiliates will see what they're promoting and join your program.
Joining an affiliate network will give you exposure and perhaps lots of sign-ups. But it won't necessarily find you affiliates who make lots of sales.
Affiliate merchants keep saying that only a small percentage of their affiliates actually make sales, and we've experienced exactly the same thing with. So I reckon the best approach is to try to identify affiliates in your niche who are already very successful and contact them. If they're successful, they'll have websites, blogs, newsletters and PPC ads you can find. Pick up the phone and talk to them.
If your affiliate programs are really good ones - with great products, high commissions and good conversion rates - one effective thing you can do is contact affiliates face-to-face at affiliate conferences. People find it difficult to say no to someone who is standing right in front of them.
Affiliates who attend conferences are probably making good money, and at the very least you know for sure that they're serious about their business.
Feel free to click on Profile and create a signature file that links to one or more of the affiliate programs so that we can all see what programs you're talking about. _________________ Allan Gardyne
