Allan's latest newsletter focuses on video. Timely for this reader, as I've just gotten back in to video this month.
In the past, I've usually made nature videos, but I tried my hand at some promo vids this time. It was fun!
The tools I used were:
GarageBand (free on Macs) - soundtrack
iMovie (free on Macs) - video editing
iStockphoto.com - copyright free photos that cost a buck or two a piece.
Skills required are modest, at least for the software I'm using. Fooling around with the software for a few days just for fun might be enough training for many users.
Here's my best promo movie so far.
Disclaimer, this movie gently promotes a web site. That site is still under construction, and there will be nothing for sale there. If you don't wish to watch a promo movie, please don't click next link.
Don't forget to turn on/up your audio before viewing. The main thing I learned from making this movie is the crucial importance of a soundtrack. Watch the vid with and without the audio, and note the difference.
