Post subject: Linkshare and BFree

Hi,
I noticed that both LinkShare and BFree require you to register a specific website and associated product when initially registering with them.
Does this mean they restrict you to a single website and product range, or can you later add more sites and product ranges as per CJ?
Thanks. |

You can add more sites and classifications once you have an open account.

I have had to open a second account with Linkshare. They do let you add new domains but the system they use doesn't fully recognise them. This has caused problems with links on my site that were not for the original site. eg clicking on the link produces a "site not authorised" message.
I have recently used a storefront link from linkshare which said "Presented by The Chronic Pain Haven" when I am using them for my digital photography site-not very appropriate! Linkshare never answer emails so the only thing I could do was open another account. I didn't want to as it makes a difference to payments. _________________ How to sleep well every night |

Liz,
When you click "Get Links" ... then the merchant you want to promote ... you are taken to the merchant screen ... at the top (under the header) and in the center content area is a dropdown box where you are supposed to pick the site you are creating links for ... this should eliminate your "unauthorized" and "mistitled" links.

They do work on most because merchant are happy for you to put it anywhere. But some merchants only link you to the site they approved you for and one of these is BuyCom. I had an incident where the links sent visitors to a notice saying "this Site is not Authorised for this.."
I really find Linkshare to be very unresponsive- they never answer even urgent emails. Cj is much better on that score. _________________ How to sleep well every night |
