Hello all,

First of all, a bit about myself:
I got into affiliate marketing two months ago. I've been consistently working two or three hours a day (mostly learning at this stage since I did start from scratch). Everything I have learned was from ebooks and from the people who have replied to my posts on this site (thank you everyone for your help).

The first product I chose to promote was a dating ebook. It is ranked #17 in clickbank's 'love and romance' section with a gravity score of 27. I chose this product because I have read this book and I do believe that it is one of the better ebooks out there in this niche.

So, this was my plan.

1) Create a one-page pre-sell page that links to the merchant's site through my affiliate link.
2) Give an honest review of the product, including my personal experience and story. I also included an honest review of the product, including its weak points.
3) Using the weak points to my advantage, I included two free ebooks of information that was not included in the book. These bonus ebooks were found on a free ebook website (I did not write these books, but they can be distrubuted for free legally).

I have made no sales yet. I'm ready to give up on this site and try something new, but first I need someone else's opinion who has been there, done that. Can you please take a look at my pre-sell website? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I have not shown anyone my site yet, so am very curious to hear your comments/suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
-Serge

Hi Serge

I am no expert either but your website sales page looks good to me. First thing I would suggest to get advice on here about it is to make the link 'live' on your post. At the moment readers have to copy & paste the url in to the browser. Do this by going in to edit, highlight the title and then click the URL button in the tool bar, click preview and you should see that the link is blue, click on it and your page should open, if it does click submit and the forum users will be able to click on it to view.

How are you trying to get traffic to your sales page ? Have you done any article writing about dating that points them to the site?

Regards

aarich

Thanks for checking out my site aarich.

I have spent nearly all of my time trying to learn as much as possible about google adwords. I am quite serious about quitting my job and I am willing to spend as much time as possible to learn each step properly, so I wanted to put as much time in as possible into each marketing technique.

Article marketing was the next step I was thinking about, but just wanted to make sure the site looked all right before spending too much time writing.

Quick question regarding article marketing: I've heard a lot about ezinearticles, so I'm probably going to start there. How many articles do I need to write? I'm thinking of writing one article a day for a week to test it out. Have you had any success with article marketing?

Anyway, I don't want to bombard you with too many questions, but sometimes I feel I have so much to learn and no where to turn.

Thanks again
-Serge

Hey

it's no bother so don't worry.

You didn't say if you had done any adword marketing for your website or not.

I am probably as new as you although time wise I have probably done an average of 8 hours a day. I started with ezine articles basically because I was taught that free marketing is the way to start then when you make a few bucks reinvest in a PPC campaign. Ezine is the place to start because the are google favorites. I have done 15 articles so far and rank on googles first page with 5 last time I checked. In fact one was titled How to Make Women Fancy You it ranks 3rd on google at the moment and is pointed to an ebook called Seduction Secrets, stll no sales on that either, check it out if you want just type the words in google search. The reason you have to be with ezine first is that they are strict on no duplicate content. It is frustrating as it takes them a week to OK each article, but at least you do rank on google in a couple of weeks.

I have been learning from Wealthy Affiliate University which costs $ 39 month, no contract and you can drop out at any time, found it to be just superb. The tools they have for free are worth the money.

This link takes you to their page.

If you do get in to articles and I think it is a must, doing PPC will blow your budget big time before you are ready. This tool I found is really great for doing article research and it lets you pull snippets from up to 100 different sites then paste them together it will not appear as duplicate content and saves tons of time, it's only $8

Good luck and don't get frustrated.

Serge, just a guess, but you may be losing your visitors right in the introductory paragraph. It's a solid block of type - too daunting.

You have 1 main heading, and then 2 sub-headings and then the large, solid one-paragraph intro.

Here's what I'd try...

Delete the second sub-heading, delete that big intro, so that you jump straight into your personal story.

Telling a story is a really effective way of making a sale.

You may be trying too hard with all the sub-heads, different fonts, and different bits of color.

If you simplified the page a little, and carried on telling a compelling story in the the same font, the page would look more like a review and less like a sales page. You would want to use eye-catching sub-headings.

Remember, it's the affiliates job to warm up the visitor and get the visitor in a ready to buy mood. It's the merchant's job to do the selling.

Ruthlessly edit and concentrate on telling a compelling story, and get the reader involved in that story. At the moment, I think there are so many competing features on the page, the reader is unlikely to know what to read and will jump all over the page and miss the facts you're trying to get across.

Look at every word, every phrase, every sentence and ask yourself, "DO I need this? Does it add anything useful? Can I improve it? Does it add to the story?"

Just tell the story and you'll get the sale.

Thanks for reviewing my site, Allan. I've taken your advice and made some adjustments:

1) I changed the main heading and jumped right into my story
2) I removed some of the unnecessary subheadings
3) I tried to keep more consistent with the colors of the headings and subheadings
4) removed some of the excessive highlighting, bolding, etc
5) spaced it out a bit more to give a bit more white space so it looks less cluttered

Here's the new site:
http://alphamale-system.com

If anyone can take a look at it and review it again, that would be great. Once I feel confident about the actual website, then I'm going to venture into article marketing and write 1 article a day for 10 days for this pre-sell page. (Can't seem to get too many clicks on google...I think google has bumped up my CPC price due to a bad low quality score history on my keywords).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again.
