They are an Hsphere host. If you get on a server that is not being overburdened by a few accounts fine, if you get on a server that is oversold then too bad for you.
They outsource their tech support which is a common tactic but can be very annoying as well.
I wouldn't use them to host anything important. But if you want to stack a bunch of not that important sites that don't get a lot of traffic for cheap then that's fine.
I sure wouldn't use them for anything mission critical. They are like all the other cheap shared hosts.
Honestly how much support can you give for $5 to $10 a month? _________________

| I use them and they are crap! All reviews of them are crap too. But this is a cheap hosting and as you know what you pay is what you get. |

I am surprised to see a negative, they are usually in my top ten. I just checked and I have them as number one in 2006. My personal favorite is #2. Hostmonster hostmonster.com
[Tracking section of URL deleted. Admin.]
I use them as my primary web host. I am not yet on a dedicated sever, so I know their service really is excellent and they are trouble free. If I had to come up with a negative, it would be that their servers do not like Java script.
If you have not found a web host, you are welcome to private message me and I will share the URL's of my web hosting review sites and make you aware of a couple of very well known hosts that you may want to avoid and why.
Much success,

And your opinion is unbiased because you are an affiliate.
The reality is that some people will be okay with them and others will be put on a server that has crappy performance. That is the reality of shared hosting.
Their support is NOT very good. They are just another front end for a group of servers located in Kentucky.
I have used their services... but not for anything that would be considered "Mission Critical".
They are a CHEAP host and you get what you pay for. _________________

Since I have had 1 and 1 web hosting for about 4 years, I thought I would share my experience with you. My server has only been down 2 times which was quickly fixed and then I was credited for 3 months if I called and complained. Domain names are only $5.99 and you can host as many as you want. They do have 24/7 free tech support, but most of the reps are hard to understand. They are very affordable and have a nice control panel with many options. Overall, I wish they supported fantastico, but they have some very neat tools of their own. You also get credits with Adwords, MSN and Yahoo when you register. I won't be giving them up anytime soon! You can visit them with the link below. _________________ Looking For Keyword Research Tools and Software? Discover Free Keyword Tools and Software Reviews |

I had trouble accessing my site at least twice a week with IX. The SPAM was a serious problem. I canceled my account 6 months into the 24 months I had paid for. They refunded less than 25% of my money claiming that that their terms required that because I canceled, even for poor service, I now must pay for set-up fees and domain name registration that are FREE when you sign up. Horrible, rude, employees. MANY complaints to the BBB.
The worst thing, though, was that they disabled my account and I had to get the Attorney General for the State of Kentucky to order them to return control of my domain name to me. |

Sweet!
IX is a host I promote. Why? For HSphere Hosting and access to IP's for cheap.
As such they are just a run of the mill host, but HSphere has it's own set of advantages and disadvantages.
IX Hosting is a sister to Host Excellence. Either works fine. But like any shared hosting environment your mileage will vary based on the server they put you on.
I could say this for HostMonster (Might be a better choice for most), HostGator, etc.
I use a lot of hosts. But for the sites I must have running 24/7 I purchased a reseller account on a host that charges significantly more than any of the above... but does what they say they will do and offers REAL support in a timely fashion. _________________

I understand that you get what you pay for. I just expected them to be true to their claim of uptime - and they weren't.
The horror was, though, that when I sent them a couple of links to bad reviews about them, in a complaint about my site being down, they closed my account and I lost access to control of my domain name for a couple of months. The BBB contacted them and they ignored them. It took the Attorney General for the State of Kentucky to get them to release control of my domain name back to me. I've heard stories of bad service but this one takes the prize !!!

I am totally and completely disgusted with IX Webhosting. It used to be a great host and I recommended it to everyone I could. But something has changed. I believe they got sold. Since then, we have had nothing but endless trouble with this host...
Last year, they proudly moved to a new Data Center. Of course this caused us problems for several months. They kept apologizing, but the problems persisted. After a very long period, things calmed down and remained that way until November...
Without prior warning, IX moved our site to a new server in November. After 60+ hours of calling, using Live Chat, and using the ticket support system, they finally worked out most problems. I felt like I had to beg to get IX to help resolve the problems that they created. I lost an entire weekend fighting them. The IX response times average between 12-24 hours...
Then again this January, IX updated all of our cgi-bin files in our domain and all of our sub-domains recreating the problems that were caused in November's unnecessary server move. Again, it took over 60+ hours to get our site up and running. I had to find workarounds to get our site up and running, and amazingly, IX tried to take credit for getting our site up and running again even though they had nothing to do with it...
Even though our site is up and running now, we still have many problems. After 176 hours of fighting IX for help, they have yet to correct the Cron job errors that still plague our site...
The last two days, the server has crashed in the evening requiring another call to IX to get the server restarted/reset and our site back online. This was the same pattern that plagued us after the Data Center move last year. And early every morning, the page load response times drag down to a crawl. This seems to start between midnight and 4 AM every single night. The other day, the slowness continued well into the following day. We get an apology from IX each time this happens, but they don't seem to be doing anything to permanently correct it...
IX has tried very hard to blame these problems on our code, which worked fine before the server move in November and again up until January. IX does not want to take responsibility for their actions and it is frustrating and disgusting dealing with them. I cannot in good conscience recommend IX Webhosting to anyone until they improve the skills of their own Technical Support staff. It wouldn't hurt if they hired a few more knowledgeable people to improve their response times too. Waiting 12-24 hours for each new response to a ticket is totally unacceptable. With IX's lack of effort, a resolution to a problem can drag on for days and weeks. IX does the bare minimum to assist its clients and they do it as slow as they possibly can...
Dealing with IX technical support gets real old real fast. I wouldn't wish this on anyone...

Since I wrote that, things have improved. I fought IX for months with very little progress. Then finally, they must have gotten tired of my persistence and they moved us to a very stable server. I hounded them day and night every single day begging them to move us to a new server. I kept several tickets open continuously on each problem so that they wouldn't be able to claim that they didn't know about the troubles that we were fighting. So after a VERY long struggle with IX, they caved and moved us to a stable server. I have not had any problems whatsoever ever since...
Don't let up on them Dalmosh. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, eventually. Continue demanding that they move your files to a new server until they do so. Don't let them talk you into any other options and don't let them get away with blaming your code. If the problem was not there before they moved you to an unstable server and it was afterwards, the problem IS NOT in your code. Refuse to accept that accusation from them...
