Write a blog about it and submit blog to directories and rss feeds. Make posts about site and why people should use it.

Read Allan's Article on 77 Ways to Generate Traffic. Make sure your site is ready to convert traffic before you do any promotion. Everyone wants traffic, but it doesn't matter unless you can do something with it besides brag to your buddies about how many people came to your site.

write the articles ans post into the different article directories will get more traffic to ur site and if u do Social Bookmarking for the article pages, automatically it will increase the traffic.Last but bot the least, keep updating the site. Hope it helps you! Smile

Hi,

You can write articles about your site and submit into various article directories. You can also write blogs. You can do social bookmarking. Oh gosh, you can do lot many things for your site given your site has good on page optimization done.

blogs are a good source of getting advertisements. Make sure your posts are believable, maybe create a backstory to whoever you are writing about before jumping into the adverts. People relate better to real people, they don't just browse people's journals looking for advertisements.

I am currently doing link building through directories, forums and blogs. They are getting me good results SEO and traffic wise. I keep them targeted to reach the right audience overtime.
