Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to affiliate programs but I have some good ideas and i want to get a better general understanding of the customer purchase process , effective marketing and efficient market research. Can anyone give me some good leads, or references to material they found especially useful?

Also, I've seen the word "Niche" a million times and I'm still not sure what it means, something about unique I think.

What is it that you want to do?
Who do you want to target - visitors - traffic to your site
What product or service do you have to offer?
To whom is this product or service best suited for?
How many visitors, how much traffic, what location...

Think hard about some of these question. Expand them.

Derive answers from then and voilą - You have a niche!

Hello Khristopher,

I'm really new to this myself, but I'm learning. Your on one of the best resources right now.

To start I'd read the "Advice Articles" on the top left of this page. From beginners to advanced they will give you a lot to ponder.

Also if you don't know much about websites and content building Site Build It (SBI!) has lot of great e-books for free. Many weeks worth of good reading on how to build good sites and content available there.

As to what a niche is the best way for me to explain is through an example.

Lets say you're into cars. Well, BMW is a niche in cars, and the M3 is a niche in BMWs, and Red M3s is a niche in the M3 body style, so on and so forth.

So you can have a niche inside a niche.

Thanks for the info guys, I've got a domain portfolio started and some great ideas to convert them. Ive also found a great medical niche market and a perfect affiliate program to go with it. Still, ill study until I die, thanks for the info guys!
