Whats the minium amount of words an article can be
to be submitted to directories such as ezine.com, articlealley.com etc- how many words?
What's the minimum amount of word article that they accept? how many words? (even if it is approximate) |

It depends upon the directory. They have different policies and some directories have changed that minimum in the past, so you'll have to read the terms of whatever directory you'd like to use. The best thing to do is write an excellent article. If, when you submit, it's too short, simply make it longer. _________________ Kurt Schmitt |

EzineArticles.com says...
| Quote: | | Must be a minimum of 250 words and no more than 5,000 words. For us, an ideal article size is 400-750 words. |
That should give you a general guide. _________________ Allan Gardyne

400 words seems to be adequate for most directories. If you use Isnare.com they want all articles to be 500 words or more. _________________ Jeff Schuman

I wish I had the ability to shut it off at 250 words
This isn't high school. Write the best quality articles you can.
Use Headings and Sub Headings
Remember that people SCAN more than they read. So keep your articles grouped with a few sentences each.
Take the time to write headings
And a good rule of thumb is to see what fits nicely on a page visually (What it would take to fill a single spaced 8.5" x11" sheet of paper).

No point in writing it then just letting them leave if they choose to read it. _________________

Quest brings up some good points in the style of how an article is laid out.
I might add that you are better off to write shorter paragraphs and vary the length of the sentences as well. For example you might do one paragraph with two long sentences followed by a paragraph with 3 short sentences. Then one with 2 short sentences followed by one with 3 medium sentences.
Never do long paragraphs with long sentences!
Mixing it up helps in keeping the readers attention and sub consciously they will not skim and skip ahead allowing you to get more of the body read. _________________ Jeff Schuman
