I'm very excited as this is my first post and I'm looking forward to having other affiliates to speak with!
I have been using affiliate programs for about three years now. To date I have found one great program that has made a decent amount of money. However, I have a huge problem finding others that will work. Here is the problem.
I use Adwords for all of my advertising. Every time I sign up for a new program I do the research write a great ad and have a pretty decent CTR. Almost every single time I set up a new campaign, I get a sale or two the first couple of days, but then the sales are never to be heard from again.
My question is, would anyone have an idea as to why I set up a campaign that seems to work fantastic, but then the sales stop within the first week without fail?
Your input is much appreciated!

Actually, the only thing I use is Adwords right now.
Another point, the sales coming to an end also happens with advertisers from multiple companies including Commission Junction and Clickbank so I don't believe it's the company.
Any other ideas? |

Usually there's a "settling" process with Adwords. After a couple of days, your Quality Score kicks it and your ad might get bumped down, cost more, not shown as much or several other factors.
How long do you ride it out? Is it a day? Week? I'd suggest trying to tweak the ads/keywords until you see a steady stream of clicks and sales coming through. _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here

I typically let the campaign continue between 3 days to a week, but if the sales don't pick up after then, I will take the campaign down and test another one.
The thing that I find that is odd though, is that the sales will come in right from the start, but then quit almost immediately. I can see how the "settling" could affect things, but if I don't change the fundamentals of what got the first people to purchase, it should mean that I'm getting the same type of users to click, but they are now deciding not to buy.
Is that correct? |

You must further optimize your adwords. Something similar happened to me when I first started out. I did make sales, but it cost me dearly.
After a while I just couldn't afford to use google ppc anymore until I learned other free methods of marketing. Now thats all I do, mostly.
I have started started another sweet technique that allows me free google adword ads. It is incredible to say the least. _________________ Paul Brady
