first thank you allan and co. for creating such an informational site.

few months back i started all these affilite pro. business. not then and not now do i have any money to invest in here, so i used some free blogging platform to try my hand. sales are getting started now though but i was constantly thinking is it necessary to have your own website running. or just things like blogger can do.

one more thing i actually don't blog but they are theme based site-like blogs, just like ken envoy said, so i don't have my photo or fan-fare and all those conventional things.

in that niche even 20 pages are more than enough (don't ask me, i don't want competition there Smile ).

One more question, i was thinking of starting those mini-courses like using aweber, so can i do that from blogger or do i need my website for that.

any advice will be greatly appriacited.

I've only recently bought my first website. Previously to that I've made all my money using free online tools, i.e. Weebly, Squidoo.

No you do not need a website. Some people make good money using paid per click advertising affiliate links. A free blog is the easiest way to start and no cost.

You can make more money with own site because you control site and can work on Seo and links. Some affiliate programs require you have own site but you still can find some that don't.

thank you for posting answers. i couldn't understand you jcr, how owning a website help in seo or link. as my blog are performing well on google and on 1st position for main keywords.

moreover i am getting so much comfortable with blogger that... anyway i wanted to ask that can there be any ceiling with this. as i've seen many "sites" in my niche are trash.

can i make some money like allan, 1000-3000$ per month something like that. i hope it won't matter much.

It depends on your goals. Mini sites can be done with a website or blog. Many people make a full time living with many of these.

An authority site can bring long term income and should include a website, blog, landing page with lead capture form, and autoresponder. You can build long term traffic, a mailing list, and a large income if you are willing to stick with it.

To be honest using free blogging platforms is not a good habit to start. I tell you why?

1. You have no control over the blog
2. It could be deleted at any time
3. You are held down by a contract on what you put on your blog.

These are just a few of the problems with having a free blog. Check out http://www.marketassociate.com/are-free-blog-sites-the-best-choice-when-starting-a-blog-and-why/ to learn more...

that was certainly scary. i am planning to make online my future business, this is certainly i don't want.

if this is your story can you tell me what you were doing, i've heard that if one adds more than 2-3 posts everyday then he can be deleted.

i cann't understand one thing, blogger is of google's, why it has provided free platforms for free. what they get in return. is it because this way they want it as a bait to attract advertisers.

if you see, blogger creates codes for adsense on it's own, that means it somewhere is motivating people to earn, then why it has such conditions.

i tried to read it's terms and conditions and content policy, but i could not locate any thing that you were saying, can you show me that.

Hey krish,
I don't know what I particular that I was doing wrong. I know that I created a number of blogs but it wasn't like I was creating hundreds of blogs daily. I would create probably 1 blog a month if that. The blogs were not long blogs, just short blogs that had a few post each. They did link to affiliate programs. I believe that was the problem. Google does not want blogs that are created primarly to promote affiliate programs. Unfortuntly for me, all my blogs did promote products through articles.

Blogger.com is great for promoting products because it has a lot of weight in the search engine. But it is not the way to build a strong business. I relate using blogger as your base as building a house with a foundation of straw. Just don't do it.

Now, if you just creating a blog to talk about previous outings with affiliate links I would use blogger. But not for a business...

i am a bit confused, i just did a detailed study on their policy and TOS, may be i left nothing, i read that they have automatic programs that identify spam, this way it can delete or rather don't make blogs live, it said you got grace period during which you may ask for reviews.

anyway all i can say is just make enough money and have own website. i think for someone like me SBI is a very good option.

usually i reserve 20% of money earned for donation now i think i'll have to reduce it. and thanks for all the advice to you all.

@krish,
If you really want to have a free means of producing internet content then I would recommend squidoo.com. This platform is made specifically so you can make money. And they will not delete any of your content. I have using them for the past 2 years and I have not had one problem.

Also, with the review in blogger. I asked for a review on my blogs and they did return one or two of my blogs but they did not return the one that was making all the money. A shame for me..

I hope this helps...
