yes there a lot of online click pay program where youc an earn money on clicks, lead, per action, sale. such as bid advertisers, chitika. But one thing, I have not seen anyone better than Google Adsense. Google adsense has very simple and nice program to earn money and is supported by many of the online communities such as wordpress, squidoo, social networking etc...

Yeah, Bidvertiser is very good and Viralytics Media is a solid network as well that pays similar to Adsense.

I don't know if your going to get anything better than adsense at the moment. But their are a few alternatives out their.

1. shoppingads.com - If you have a high traffic site this alternative may give you a higher payout than adsense. One thing, the ads have to be highly visiable like in the top left of articles to have this to work for you.

2. Kontera - kontera could increase your return on a site 2% to 5% per site if you have the traffic..

These are two of my best alternative.

And their is alway yahoo.. But their program is a little harder to get involved in.

Good luck...

There are many PPC programs for publishers that pays. I read in another forum that also an important aspect is on how they pay - paypal, check, e-transfer, etc. I think this is also a factor to consider.

Bidadvertisor is a best alternative to adsense.
it diplays targeted ads that suits to the content and theme of the site.

I have used bidvertiser on one of my blogs but I think they don't count all the clicks You get.For testing it I clicked my own ads from different IP addresses and those clicks were not counted.
So, I think bidvertiser is certainly not a good alternative of Adsense.
I think yahoo publisher network can be a good alternative but haven't used it yet.

In the body. Place the code exactly where you want the ad to appear on your page. Only the ad will be displayed. Positions near the top of the page are likely to get more clicks.

Read the advice at http://adsense.google.com

There's heaps of useful advice there, including a "heat map" which shows you the best positions.

Ack! Shopping ads are ALWAYS way off targeted for all of my sites, I've tried them on.

For baby sign language came ads for everything EXCEPT babies and/or sign language. Same thing with my fitness sites, etc.

Yanked those down quickly.

I can't stand Kontera, and similars on others sites. They are very annoying.

However I know of some making a decent amount of money with Kontera-type ads, sooo... .....
