Read Allan's Article on 77 Ways to Generate Traffic. Make sure your site is ready to convert traffic before you do any promotion. Everyone wants traffic, but it doesn't matter unless you can do something with it besides brag to your buddies about how many people came to your site.

write the articles ans post into the different article directories will get more traffic to ur site and if u do Social Bookmarking for the article pages, automatically it will increase the traffic.Last but bot the least, keep updating the site. Hope it helps you!  |

Hi,
You can write articles about your site and submit into various article directories. You can also write blogs. You can do social bookmarking. Oh gosh, you can do lot many things for your site given your site has good on page optimization done.

I am currently doing link building through directories, forums and blogs. They are getting me good results SEO and traffic wise. I keep them targeted to reach the right audience overtime.

There are types of Generate Targeted Traffic:
1) Submitting your site to industry groups and getting them to link to you
2) Having relevant trade associations link to you
3) Finding complementary business sites and getting them to link to you (This may require reciprocal linking.)
4) Paying to have good sites link to you when necessary. For example, a Yahoo Directory business listing is a valuable link, but it also costs $300 a year. It is probably worth it though.

every one suggest in different way but point is all the same, just do first on page work on your web page content and keywords you should make them strong and relevant and after than you should do off page work like directory submission, blogs submission, article submission, and social bookmarking.
