Tell me - do you have to be a paying member of SBI to join the five pillar club and become an affiliate ?
A friend of mine, would like to promote SBI, but does not want to make up a website.

No, to become an affiliate you do not have to own SBI. However, it is a good idea because you can then describe your own experience. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I became a 5 Pillar member quite a while before I took the SBI plunge. You'll learn tons about it and find the best ways to pre-sell the product through the great material supplied.
Allan is correct in saying that you will really see the affiliate commissions take off after you can write from your own experience and passion with Site Build It.
