PDFs are also ranking in the search engines, so you should think about doing SEO for your PDF.

Choose some phrases for that you want to rank it for, that are not too competitive but have decent amount of searches. If you can put the PDF on a high PR page, then you can rank for more competitive phrases. It should be likely to get strong backlinks to your PDF, because people like to link to great free resources, and PDFs have a high perceived value.

You can even upload it to several sites that google has much love for, for example Squidoo, or to ebook directories.

Because a PDF can be very long, you can have many keyword phrases in it, and thus can rank for a lot of phrases. Also the high number of related keywords will make it more relevant to google, and it is likely that people will find it with combined keywords or keyword phrases, that are searched the first time.

How can this help with your business?

- It is free branding for you

- People can click on embedded affiliate links and buy something

- You can get new leads for your business, if you entice them to go to your website and opt into your email list

- You can get lots of more traffic, if you make the ebook viral, so that people give it away to even more people or load it up somewhere for download.

Hey Andyz, you forget to mention that NEVER let search engine index the PDF book which you are trying to sell. Otherwise people can simply download the book for free without you even realizing it and you will lose money this way.

To overcome this, make sure to zip your PDF book so that the search engine cannot index it.
